Job Description:
This role will require someone to work closely with students on a 1-1 up to 1:6 basis, providing them with high-quality sessions to maximise their potential across the subject. This role may include working within the young persons home or an alternative public place.
Job Duties:
* Preparing and delivering lessons both face to face and online, depending on preferability of the local authority.
* Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education.
* adapt and implement a variety of different teaching strategies in order to best meet the individual learning needs.
* Delivering engaging and interactive lessons in line with the students' individual education plans
* Assessing students' progress and adjusting teaching techniques accordingly
* Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development
* Completing a detailed report after each and every session, outlining learning objectives, engagement and comprehension.
Required Qualifications:
* Have QTS or be a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or SEN/ SEMH experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to tailor teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
* A relevant degree in Education or a related field
* Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH
* Knowledge of different learning disabilities and strategies to support them
* Strong organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
* Experience in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Training in specific interventions such as Makaton or TEACCH
