We are looking for a dynamic audience and content editor who can build on The Southern Daily Echo's huge growth online while also ensuring our thousands of print readers get the rich storytelling they deserve in their daily paper. You will work with a team of journalists in our newsroom in Ocean Village, Southampton, to get the most out of their stories. You will grow the audience on dailyecho.co.uk, drive digital subscriptions, help reporters cater to our loyal audience, and ensure our newsletters are of a high standard. You will work alongside the digital editor, motivating, mentoring and developing the reporting team. You will take a leading role in running the day-to-day news agenda, planning, and investigations and campaigns. You will also lead on the content mix for the printed newspaper. We are looking for a creative, digitally savvy operator who understands the needs of a modern newsroom and wants to help deliver the best stories to our audience. The ideal candidates would already be working on a newsdesk or could be an experienced senior reporter looking for the next step up. You will have an excellent knowledge of media law and will be comfortable dealing with members of the public. You will:
