Are you an experienced Health and Safety Advisor looking to influence safety practices in a regional role within the water industry? Our client, a sector leading contractor, is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Advisor to oversee and enhance health and safety standards across multiple projects within the Severn Trent region.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement health and safety policies, ensuring all regional projects comply with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
* Provide expert guidance on health and safety practices, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards across a range of water infrastructure projects.
* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to foster a safety-focused culture and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
* Lead incident investigations and produce detailed reports, sharing insights and recommendations with senior management to prevent future occurrences.
* Deliver training sessions and safety briefings to teams across various sites, promoting awareness of best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and assess safety compliance across the region, producing detailed reports and analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Advise on risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans to support project teams and maintain high standards across all activities.
* Engage with the client and other stakeholders in regular meetings to communicate safety updates and address any concerns.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, preferably within the construction industry or related infrastructure sectors.
* Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices within construction and infrastructure environments.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence teams at all levels.
* Excellent organisational and analytical abilities to manage multiple sites and ensure consistent health and safety standards across the region.
* Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma, IOSH membership).
* Knowledge of ISO 45001 or similar management systems
* CSCS card (beneficial)
