Job Description:
We have a current opportunity for a Civil Architectural Engineer (LSS) on an outside of IR35 contract basis. This is for a major operator in Wind and the client is open to taking on contractors who have not worked for an operator before.
Largely WFH with some attendance in the central London office.
For the Civil position, the stress is on onshore substantial substation experience and general energy infrastructure experience. Ideally HV, and overhead lines. General experience in Grid Reinforcement and distribution is desirable. European candidates considered.
Coordination/Interfaces with:
* Offshore Substation Platform OSP (as part of EPC substation’s contract)
* Electrical & Information Systems WP
* Transmission Engineering WP
* Onshore EXC WP
* GRD WP
* Procurement & Legal Workstreams
* Consenting- & Land Work Packages
* External Contractors (National Grid, Authorities, etc.)
Educational Background:
* Completed studies (diploma/master's degree) in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or comparable courses of study.
Professional Experience:
* Several years of professional experience in the field of civil, structural, building services, landscape, and architectural works for (onshore) electrical substations and power cables.
* Ideally, knowledge/experience in project management (incl. planning, budgeting, and resource allocation). Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is a plus; experience in FIDIC based contracts.
Technical & Regulatory Skills:
* Strong understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
* In-depth knowledge of UK construction laws, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards. Familiarity with the planning & permitting processes in the UK.
* Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools is a plus.
Health and Safety:
* Comprehensive understanding of health and safety, construction design, and management (CDM) regulations and best practices.
