Our client is an established Oil trading company, with physical assets across Europe. They actively source, refine, market and trade Crude Oil and Oil products, chemicals, and associated financial derivatives.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the operational and strategic HR agenda for the Group.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and initiatives and promoting employee engagement, development, and retention.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reporting to the CEO, the main duty of a Head of HR include:
* Building and maintaining influential relationships with senior leaders and managers, working closely with them to develop solutions to all HR related matters
* Designing, reviewing and improving the organisation’s structure and applying change management skills, to ensure the continued smooth running of the business.
* Managing the HR Advisor in the Geneva office and providing functional direction to the HR departments in the refineries.
* Managing HR operations, including payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration
* Resource planning/recruitment for the London and Geneva offices
* Managing the annual reward process for both trading and non-trading employees
* Overseeing employee relations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
* Anticipating issues and needs within the business and addressing these effectively
* Improving the company’s ongoing processes and organising procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity
* Anticipating critical HR related problems and issues and applying expert knowledge of HR programs, policies, and practices to resolution
* Ensuring compliance with existing legislation and tracking new legislation
* Maintaining and ensuring the integrity of HR data
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
* A minimum of 15 years of HR generalist experience, gained in an Oil/Energy refining/trading environment.
* A pro-active, can-do attitude.
* Strong leadership, mentoring and team management skills.
* Broad knowledge and experience of HR best practice in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, payroll, reward, employment law, policy/procedure development and interpretation.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a reputation for building strong working relationships at all levels in the organisation.
* A track record of working independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
