Who we are: The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. Introduction to the role:
We are looking for a full-time Support Worker to work in one of our supported living services. Each day is different in this service, as we promote independence and choice within the working day for the people we support. Available hours opportunities include Wake Nights, Long days & Half Days.
Brief outline of the role:
The service we are recruiting to require 2 to 1 support or 1 to 1 support. The people we support are highly dependent on our Support Workers providing good quality care. Day to day support looks like: Day activities on 2 to 1 ratio e.g. car drives, days out and community support, meal preparation, full personal care, medication administration, maintaining the home to a clean standard, shopping duties and supporting with appointments such as health and wellbeing. A driving license is desirable but not essential- car provided in service. Knowledge of autism, PICA and learning disabilities is preferred but not essential- training provided on the job.
