Role Definition
You will play a key part taking responsibility for the environmental performance of the site and ensure compliance with British and EU environmental legislation. An excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take on an Environmental role; previous experience is preferred, but we will support you in achieving further training.

Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm including breaks

The role involves
1. Always ensure compliance with legislation British/European and the site EA permit
2. Keep site up to date with current ISO 14001 standard
3. Lead and manage environmental projects and improvements
4. Manage along with site management team on all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental initiatives, conservation and energy and water efficiencies
5. Complete and submit weekly, bimonthly and annual ISO 14001 reports
6. Liaise with the relevant bodies such as EA, Water and local authorities, and public bodies
7. Audit, analyze and report environmental performance to management and regulatory bodies
8. Actively contribute and work towards achieving the ABP Environmental Targets by 2030 with site management team
9. Implement best environmental practice
10. Prepare reports as required
11. Educate all staff on environmental issues and responsibilities
12. Maintain group environmental management systems
13. Participate in environmental education and research
14. Support and drive the environmental community engagement activities such as tree planting
15. Manage site surrounds including grassed areas and plant borders
16. Take responsibility for all site relating to environmental spend
17. Overall management responsibility for the operation, efficiency and compliance of the on-site wastewater treatment plant, including management of the wastewater treatment operator
18. Understand and report on the overall costs of utilities in the business
19. Complete Bill of Materials for all products dispatched and update any changes

3. Prior knowledge of working with ISO 14001 system or other compliance systems such as ISO 45001 or 50001 preferred but not essential
