The Bournville Logistics CI Engineer is a critical role within the Bournville Planning & Logistics function, seeking out optimisation opportunities and ensuring accurate loss data for both Manufacturing Logistics assets and the wider supply network.
You will work closely with other Engineers, Logistics team members, and Production managers & make recommendations to improve the efficiency of our Logistical operations within the Manufacturing Unit.
Your role will include:
* Building excellent relationships with our Logistics operators & communicating effectively
* You will have a visible presence on the Shop floor and develop a very strong understanding of our equipment and flows, and how this impacts our operational team
* Analysing inventory levels, warehouse layouts & asset performance including palletiser robots & conveyors to fully understand losses and provide recommendations based on their loss data to the Logistics Technical Lead and Logistics Manager.
* Participating in weekly Section review and presenting technical information & loss analysis
* Performing Logistics loss analysis to identify parts, equipment, activities and skillset necessary to maintain systems and retain operational availability.
* Coordinating with other team members regarding analysis results & ensure that action is taken accordingly
* Continuous Improvement activities related to; robots/ palletisers, conveyors, warehousing, transport, inbound and outbound, material movements, inventory levels
* As a Logistics CI engineer you will apply scientific and mathematical engineering principles to improve the efficiency of our assets. You will evaluate all aspects and methods of the Bournville supply chain to improve efficiency.
Our preferred candidate will:
* Be VSM trained or willing to be trained as priority. They will act as VSM lead for the site & IL6E (Lean Six Sigma) E2E pillar deputy
* Have a strong background in Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Logistics in a similar CI or Process Engineer role
* Have a proven track record in analysing complex data and be able to develop data capture techniques and tools
* Be an excellent communicator.
* Take pride in being present on the shop floor with our operational teams, listening to their feedback and developing plans that put our people first
