Position Summary Assist Senior Inspection Engineer for the effective provision and operation of inspection systems and services to the allocated offshore facilities to ensure that plant and equipment is inspected in accordance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies and offshore legislation ensuring feedback of results to the Client asset integrity team. Conduct Offshore Inspection Engineer relief duties as required. Duties & Responsibilities Functions ESSENTIAL • Support the Senior Discipline Engineers in the day-to-day technical and operational management of inspection activities • Participate in all RBA reviews to assist in the development of inspection programmes and where necessary develop detailed plans, programmes and workscopes based on RBA output • Ensure comprehensive annual inspection plans and individual workscopes are prepared in a timely manner • Preparation of workpacks required for implementation of the agreed inspection programme, supported by Assistant Engineers and subject to technical approval by the SIE • Review of site reporting including operational reports, inspection reports, anomaly reports, integrity queries etc. • Supervision of the input of inspection data into relevant databases • Monitor and ensure weekly and monthly listings, such as overdue reports, are maintained and updated as necessary • Undertake / support the preparation of routine management reporting to client (e.g. monthly and annual reports) • Manage mobilisation requirements such as liaison with NDT team, technical briefings and personnel / equipment logistics associated with site work, with support by Assistant Engineers • Review of resource requirements and CTRs for upcoming work • Assist in annual budget preparation and review • Perform relief Offshore/Site Inspection Engineer duties as and when required NON-ESSENTIAL • The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake other tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management Safety Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment. Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment. Reporting Relationship Organisationally, the position holder will report directly to the Project Manager / Principal Engineer Organisationally, the position holder will report directly to the Project Manager / Principal Engineer Functionally, the position holder will report to the Senior Inspection Engineer All individuals within the Equinor inspection team report indirectly to the Client Technical Excellence Support Team Qualifications REQUIRED • Minimum ONC in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable NVQ Level 3 qualification • Minimum UKAS RG2 Category 4, or pending assessment at this level DESIRED • Appropriate HNC/HND qualification or Degree in Engineering-related discipline, or working towards such qualification • ASME Plant Inspector Level 1 or equivalent • API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection • API 570 Pipework Inspection • NDT awareness training for core techniques • Confined Space Entry training • Registration with an appropriate professional institute (e.g., IMechE) • Offshore medical, BOSIET and MIST certification Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics • Ability to display a methodical approach to workflow execution and problem solving • Ability to work with initiative when presented with non-routine challenges • Competent with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Good communicator - written, verbal and technical • Good client and support contractor relationship skills • CAD capability (AutoCAD) advantageous but non-essential Working Conditions This position is considered primarily OFFICE WORK (90% to 100%) which is characterised as follows. • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace • Work surface is stable (flat) Occasional OFFSHORE WORK may be required (up to 10%) which is characterised as follows: • Frequently outdoors in North Sea offshore environment • Regular exposure to inclement weather, extremes of climate, and noise in the work place • Normally on stable work surfaces, but occasionally on vessels subject to wave motion • Transit to offshore facilities by helicopter flights Physical Activity/Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
