A leading technology sector client with global reach and exciting growth plans currently underway is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team in a newly created role. This dynamic client is presently appraising several acquisition prospects and leading the way in industry innovation. Reporting directly to a Senior Finance Manager (ex PWC) with dotted line to the FC and CFO, this person will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger team which consists of a PL Manager and 5 PL Controllers. The Controllers are based across 2 sites so there is a small amount of travel involved – namely 1-2 days every 1-2 months within a Mon-Fri working pattern.
My client is seeking a fully qualified Accountant and this is unfortunately non-negotiable. The ideal candidate will likely come from a practice background with audit experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts;
2. Checking the accuracy of the information generated by the financial system and where necessary correct by making appropriate amendments;
3. Assist in maintaining accurate information regarding control accounts;
4. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
5. To undertake ad hoc financial and management tasks as instructed by the financial controller;
6. Contribute to internal financial reporting;
7. Management of Purchase Ledger team;
8. Review of weekly bank payments to suppliers;
9. Cost and variation analysis;
10. Assistance with the budgeting and forecasting process;
11. Assisting with reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities;
12. Assisting with Group reporting;
13. Assisting with the company’s external audit;
14. Contribute to further development of systems, processes and procedures within the businesses.
Skills & Experience:
1. Fully qualified Accountant and member of a recognised accounting body
2. Audit background
3. Extensive IT skills and experience
4. Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
5. A sound knowledge of debits/credits, business systems and processes and ability to work on your own initiative
6. Articulate and a clear communicator
7. Meticulous with excellent attention to detail
8. Good problem solving and decision making skills
9. Ability to work to deadlines with minimum supervision
