The Crypt School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, caring, positive and enthusiastic person to join our Lunchtime Supervisor team. The successful person will help to care for the pupils and supervise lunchtime activities.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
Ability to relate well to pupils and staff
Ability to work well as part of a team
Patience and caring
Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage
Good communication skills
Be aware and able to support School in safeguarding of pupils
Outline of what Main Duties may include:
Supervise pupils in the dining hall and on the School premises during the School lunchtime.
Ensure the pupils take responsibility for properly clearing and cleaning the dining tables, adjacent floor area and all areas used during lunchtime.
Ensure good order and discipline in line with the policies of the school – reinforcing acceptable behaviors in non-structured situations e.g. how to move around and exit the school, socializing with others.
Encourage the development of social skills and self-discipline amongst the pupils e.g. eating in a socially acceptable manner and displaying good manners.
Ensuring the pupils wait their turn in the dining area and with the basket ball rings
Monitor behavior in the cloakroom (and toilet) areas.
Monitor behavior in form rooms and on playing field dependent on weather
Vary the Rota of duties according to the needs of the School.
Administer first aid if required or accompany the pupil to relevant trained staff.
Deal with or report to the nearest member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) staff on duty, incidents that are seen or reported regarding pupils’ welfare.
Responsible for the full cleaning of the dining room, including tables, floor, walls, windows and bins
Health and Safety:
Undergo Basic First Aid training and update courses if requested
Be aware of the responsibility for Health, Safety and Welfare and that of others who may be affected by your actions or inactions.
Co-operate with the employer on all issues to do with Health, Safety & Welfare.
Continuing Professional Development:
In conjunction with the line manager take responsibility for personal professional development, keeping up-to-date with developments relating to school efficiency, which may lead to improvements in the day-to-day running of the school.
Undertake any necessary professional development as identified in the School Improvement Plan taking full advantage of any relevant training and development available.
Maintain a professional portfolio of evidence to support the Performance Management process- evaluating and improving own practice
