We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join our client, who is a leading specialist in their industry with customers all around the world. Your role will include skilled execution of planned and corrective electrical maintenance activities, ensuring reliable condition and robust performance of numerous and varied items of plant and equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Implementation of scheduled planned maintenance by realizing work orders generated by the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
2. Reacting to failure/breakdown of equipment and carrying out corrective/remedial measures as necessary or directed.
3. Possessing and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, especially PLC, electrical panels and components, MCCs, SCADA, and general electrical duties.
4. Performing strip down, repair, overhaul, and testing of various electrical plant.
5. Installing and repairing various types of industrial equipment and components.
6. Solving problems by properly investigating symptoms and tracing back to identify root cause.
7. Suggesting solutions for continuous improvement of plant safety, reliability, and overall efficiency.
Our client is looking for you to have the following qualifications:
1. Certification of IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 to 17th/18th edition standard is necessary.
2. Electrical engineering apprenticeship at trade level is essential.
3. Working experience in a similar role or position.
4. Working knowledge of automated/PLC controlled equipment, MCC, and SCADA.
5. Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and process schematics/specifications, including P&ID.
6. Good understanding of mechanical systems and constraints is beneficial.
7. Experience and knowledge of heavy industry.
8. Current CSCS card or similar and current PASMA and MEWP license are beneficial.
9. Current forklift license is beneficial.
10. Current certificate for competency in confined spaces and escape BA is beneficial.
11. Strong understanding and appreciation of the need for safe systems of work, including risk assessment and method statements, isolation procedures, and permit to work systems.
12. Ability to use handheld computerized equipment.
13. Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
14. Current driver's license.
