Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1520 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Matron who is an enthusiastic, flexible, and organised individual to look after the boarding pupils. The position is available from May 2025 and the role will cover two main functions:
* Pastoral and health care

The appointment of Assistant Matron is an important role within the Boarding House, involving significant responsibility. The success of the appointment will depend on the strength and quality of the relationships with the pupils, the Senior Boarding Housemaster, and the rest of the House team. The successful candidate will be expected to make the boys ‘feel at home’ and ensure that they are well cared for pastorally and domestically.
In return, we offer benefits including a pension scheme (plus Life Assurance Cover), Employee Discount Club, discounted school fees for the Foundation Schools (permanent posts only and upon successful completion of the probationary period), membership of a healthcare plan, a range of family-friendly benefits, and season ticket loan.
