Overview of project/role
The Head of Retail at London Transport Museum has overall responsibility for the commercial income and continuous improvement of the LTM retail business. You will be accountable for setting, driving, and delivering on commercial retail targets for LTM and report to the Enterprises Director. The retail business currently generates £4.5m income with a net profit contribution of £830k, and you will be responsible for growing income across the entire business.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop and implement the retail strategy for profitable growth.
* Ensure annual retail sales, contribution, and stock targets are met.
* Manage stock holding and ensure stock management systems are in place.
* Oversee the efficient running of the Museum’s stock warehouse facility.
* Manage the online shop’s external fulfilment company and digital agencies.
* Ensure Service Level Agreements are met and costs reduced.
* Develop the Museum's retail marketing strategy.
* Manage capital and operational expenditure for the LTM Retail business.
* Line management of 6 staff, ensuring excellent customer experience.
* Monitor retail and cultural industry trends.
* Lead the retail team of approximately 30 staff.

Experience
* Senior management experience in high street or cultural sector retail.
* Experience in visual merchandising principles.
* Proven ability to meet ambitious retail sales targets.
* Experience in developing and delivering retail strategies.
* Experience working with external stakeholders.
