Title: Fire Engineer Salary range: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum Location: Burton Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home if desired. Closing date is 28th March but we would encourage early applications. We are searching for engineers with some experience in fire engineering or another safety related field. You will join a team of experienced engineering consultants who specialise in a broad range of safety disciplines. Whilst this opportunity is focused on nuclear, there will be opportunities to work in other sectors (e.g. rail, defence, aerospace) and in new markets relating to clean energy systems and renewables (e.g. hydrogen, and lithium-ion battery energy storage). Key Responsibilities: Provide a high-quality fire engineering service to our clients. Interact directly with a variety of clients across several highly regulated sectors (e.g. nuclear energy, defence, rail). Plan and deliver work, including attending client sites across the UK where required. Provide technical input into many areas of fire engineering e.g. fire strategies, fire testing, fire system design, fire safety case. Project manage a variety of projects with accountability for resource and budgets. Contribute to business development and manage enquiries with both new and existing clients. Requirements: Successful applicants will meet the following minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a science, engineering or maths subject. Fire engineering experience (desired in high-hazard or highly regulated industries e.g. nuclear, petrochemicals, chemicals, defence and/or rail). It is to your advantage if you meet any of the following additional requirements: MSc or BEng Fire Engineering (or equivalence by experience). Working towards chartership, ideally through the IFE Experience of working on large multi-disciplinary projects. Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
