Based in Avonmouth, Plant-Ex ingredients in an international company specialising in the manufacture of Natural Food Ingredient Solutions, supplying across the globe either directly through our own facilities or through a number of selected distribution partners. We specialise in spray drying food colourings and flavours as well as production of liquid food colours, flavours and extracts. As our Applications/NPD Technologist, we are looking for someone to support the development and application of flavour and colour technologies across diverse food and beverage categories. This role involves hands-on work in the applications kitchen, contributing to customer presentations, driving flavour innovation, and maintaining the flavour library and lab environment. The Applications/NPD Technologist will collaborate closely with commercial, marketing, and other NPD teams to deliver on customer briefs and contribute to proactive innovation and business improvement projects. This is an exciting full-time role and could be a great opportunity for a student placement or graduate. Working hours are 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday 07.30 - 4.00 p.m. Salary - £25,500 per annum. Main responsibilities:- Develop an understanding of flavour & colour technology and application. Maintenance of flavour core library - profiling existing and new flavours into the library. Practical work within the application kitchen, delivering products for customer presentations across categories (beverage, bakery, confectionery, savoury) Assisting with development of customer presentations - creating application recipes, samples and supporting documentation. Working closely with commercial and marketing to develop new innovative flavour concepts for trend presentations Delivering customer briefs to specification and time deadlines, working closely with the customer where required.
