About the Business\n\nAn opportunity to be an Accounts Assistant for a service business based in Birmingham. It’s a long-running company which works with a wide variety of clients in their field.\n\nMain Duties:\n\nAs an Accounts Assistant, your main duties include:\n\n * Processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.\n\n * Preparation and process of payment runs.\n\n * Reconciliation of supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies.\n\n * Monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.\n\n * Conducting credit checks on new customers and setting appropriate credit limits.\n\n * Chasing overdue invoices via phone, email, and letters.\n\n * Negotiating payment plans and terms with customers when necessary.\n\n * Preparation of regular reports on aged debtors and credit control activities.\n\n * Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.\n\n * Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.\n\n * Other ad hoc tasks as required.\n\nLocation / Office / Culture\n\nThe role is based in Birmingham City Centre with great transport links.\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\n\nThe ideal candidate will have:\n\n * A keen attention to detail\n\n * A proactive approach to changing workloads\n\n * An ability to meet deadlines\n\nWhy Join the business\n\n * Early finish on a Friday\n\n * Great Manager\n\n * On-site Parking\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are a local accountancy recruitment specialist.
