Lead Administrator
Location: King Edwin School Norton
Line Managed by: Associate Principal: Operations
Salary Scale: £23,795 pa
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week with 40 days holiday pa (including bank holidays)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* To manage the raising of standards of student achievement through the provision and management of efficient and effective business and support services.
* Lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of staff.
* Responsibility for developing new workflow processes.
* Accountability for ensuring the accuracy of the team’s work through regular auditing.
* Establish, maintain and document effective operational procedures in all areas of Administration.
* To provide administrative and technical support to teaching staff. The Post Holder will ensure that all administrative staff understand their key roles in supporting the primary purpose of the school to raise student achievement and to support in achieving quality teaching and learning
* To manage and oversee operational support including compliance with all health & safety legislation.
* Oversee the support of Exams in conjunction with the Exams Manager, ensuring all elements of the exams process function as required.
* Manage appraisals with administration staff.
* Ensure an efficient and effective, welcoming communication system is in place through the school switchboard and main reception area.
* Keep up to date with good office & administration practices and new developments undertaking training as required.
* Ensure stock levels of all consumables (for example, office stationery, paper) are kept at reasonable levels. In discussion with others, arrange the ordering and delivery of large bulk items e.g. paper stocks.
* Oversee the petty cash system
* Oversee the attendance register is fully completed on a daily basis ensuring any absentees are appropriately followed up.
* Oversee school transport services
Development
* Represent the Office Administration team in meetings where required.
* Take part in staff meetings, training sessions, governor meetings and working parties of the school as and when required.
* Assist in the management and auditing of policies to ensure they are kept up to date and the school is compliant in all areas.
IT
* Support in the management of IT related needs, procurement and maintenance
* Maintain the Asset Register.
Other responsibilities
* To undertake additional or other duties as directed and deemed appropriate by the Senior Leadership Team.
* To participate in a programme of self / professional development to ensure skills, knowledge and understanding are added to and kept up to date.
* Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality with regard to issues concerning members of staff and pupils. To respond positively with tact, sensitivity and awareness to pupils and parents in relation to duties undertaken.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
National level 3 or equivalent qualification in related area or equivalent experience
Level 3 in Literacy and numeracy
Experience
Experience of a management support role in a busy, fast paced environment and in a regulatory compliance context.
Experience of presentation of information and proposals to differing audiences
Experience in contributing effectively to multi agency meetings
Experience of managing multiple functions including previous demonstrable people management
Experience of working in a school
