Subsea Mechanical Design Engineer - Malaysia
The Company
Oliver Valvetek is experienced in providing extensive field-proven flexible subsea valves for oil and gas applications from extraction through to processing. We are thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the national, major and independent Oil and Gas Operators, Contractors and OEM’s throughout the world.
Oliver Valves as a group is a leading valve manufacturer for Instrumentation, Piping, Subsea and Hydrogen & Carbon Capture applications.
The Role
This role is based at our office in Kuala Lumpur, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. You are required to work under the Oliver Valvetek Engineering Department, processing subsea valve production orders for Oliver Valvetek Limited from concept through to final assembly and to provide technical assistance through all stages of manufacture.
Your day-to-day primary responsibilities will be:
* Provide technical support for Subsea Sales enquiries with emphasis on Aker and OneSubsea/SLB, which includes reviewing of technical documents, proposal of suitable subsea products based on the project requirements, generating technical write-ups for quotations, attending technical meetings with the client to firm up requirements/clarify issues, etc.
* Co-ordinate the complete processing of customer orders.
* Bills of materials creation (using Oliver MRP and Intranet systems) and release in accordance with a pre-defined schedules.
* Generate production machine drawings and General Arrangement drawings (assembly, X-sectional & BOM drawings) using Solidworks and ACAD.
* Identify customer requirements and produce technical documents to allow compliance, i.e. test procedures, IOMs.
* Perform calculations to support any new designs or changes to existing designs.
* Processing of small internal projects under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.
Your secondary responsibilities will be:
* Co-ordinating the revision of existing parts and their correct implementation.
* Identifying assembly problems and implementing a corrective action plan. This will include the co-ordination of short and long-term resolutions and the revision of any relevant documentation.
* Only on needed basis, you are required to provide aftermarket offsite visits to inspect valve failures & carry out simple rectification works according to Oliver aftermarket procedures and guidelines. You will require to communicate with Oliver quality & aftermarket team to generate offsite reports for each offsite visit.
Qualifications
Candidate must have:
* Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Full working knowledge with experience on AutoCad LT and Solidworks.
* Some previous relevant work experience with a company within the subsea industry
* 2 to 8 years of working experience.
