You will have attained a minimum HNC qualification or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering and have an excellent all round knowledge and practical experience of both electrical and mechanical installations, site maintenance, planned maintenance systems and have relevant management / supervisory experience. You will be able to work in accordance with the requirements of HTM's, HBN's, British Standards, Model Specifications and all Statutory Regulations, Codes of Practice and Trust Policies and Procedures. A willingness to undertake further training as required is also essential. Main duties of the job You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that the operation and maintenance of Estates buildings regarding mechanical / electrical services installations comply with health service and statutory legislation. You will communicate with divisional managers, ward managers, heads of department and service managers on the status and progression of remedial works, maintenance and other associated Estates services or service problems. You will deputise when required for the Head of Operational Estates during periods of absence or when dealing with specific projects or attending meetings. You will act as, "Authorised / Responsible person", as defined in the Health Technical Memorandum's or relevant Approved Codes of Practice e.g. L8 as required or directed, subject to appropriate specialist training e.g. for electrical systems, water safety, medical gas systems. You will be the sole appointed person with responsibility for ventilation, alongside the Head of operational estates with responsibility for medical gas, water and lifts. You will manage statutory inspections of plant and equipment.
