About the Role
To assist with the maintenance and management of the College's central systems. These currently include but are not limited to; Hyper-V servers, domain controllers, Windows 7/10, Server 2019/2021, Papercut print management, Office 365 Email, Sophos antivirus, Sophos UTM internet firewall, Cisco Meraki switching, Veeam backups, Cisco Meraki wireless, cctv, Cunninghams Cashless catering, electronic registration, Netdna monitoring, etc. Using the College’s ICT support helpdesk and ensure faults are dealt with appropriately and escalated where necessary in accordance with policies and service level agreements and provide 1st and 2nd line support to users. Maintaining equipment including connecting, setting up and checking PCs and peripherals for normal operation, weekly checking of equipment – e.g. mice, keyboards, cables, paper/toner in printer etc cleaning hardware where appropriate performing workstation and peripheral (including whiteboards and projectors) upgrades and repairs where necessary. To support the ICT Network Manager in identifying areas of the ICT infrastructure in need of improvement and propose solutions. To provide support for the College’s information system, SIMS. To be responsible for asset tagging IT equipment within the College and to maintain and develop the College's Asset Database ensuring that this list is constantly revised to reflect the true nature of the College's assets. To support in the creation, maintenance, captures and deployment of image builds across the College using SCCM. To lead on smaller ICT Projects across the College including researching relevant technologies and costs to present a proposal to the ICT Network Manager. To test new developments, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and then identify implementation and roll out procedures alongside required training. To undertake training and keep abreast of new developments and changes to technical guidelines To be compliant with health and safety rules and regulations, reporting accidents or hazards immediately. To deliver training on software packages as and when required. To provide technical support to events, assemblies and evening functions as directed by the ICT Network Manager. To support pupil’s within the classroom as part of the Learning Support team (as required).
