The role
As a Maintenance Manager, you’ll control and manage personnel and resources on behalf of BAE Systems Air pertinent to all Flightline and Rectification activities in support of the Operational Flying requirement for the RAF.
Responsibilities:
* Lead safety engagement, enhancement & accountability in line with the Safety Development Plan, Babcock customer and end user systems/processes within your Area of Responsibility (AoR).
* Demonstrate visible and transparent leadership to generate effective, consistent, and relevant two-way information flow, improving employee experience in line with the Global People Survey action plan.
* Ensure coherent maintenance planning/tasking and integration with customer-led fleet planning, managing variation from agreed resource budgets and service scope within your AoR.
* Manage workforce against agreed resource levels and role specific qualifications and experience requirements, within your AoR.
* Oversee the Safety, Welfare and discipline of all assigned Prime and Sub-Contractor personnel in conjunction with the Management and Supervisory Team, equating to 130 engineering/support staff across multiple departments.
Essential experience:
* Previous Leadership experience and delegation of engineering authority, empowering personnel to carry out their duties effectively while maintaining motivation.
* Extensive experience in the maintenance and/or operation of Air systems, with several years post-qualification experience in a senior supervisory role within an operational environment.
* Evidence of completion of all QA (Quality Assurance) and Higher technical reports, ensuring adherence to the Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental program, and adherence to the Management System.
* Previous investigation of Safety incidents, including follow-up reports.
Qualifications:
* Educated to HND/Degree level or recognized equivalent, or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
* Completed a recognized aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems engineering.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
