The accurate sorting, labelling, preparation, and storage of specimens both pre and post analysis in the blood sciences laboratory.
Applications will not be considered from candidates holding a degree in Biomedical Science or from HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role will be to assist Biomedical Scientists to provide a diagnostic service. Specific duties will include: assisting with sample preparation, providing support to ensure efficient workflow, maintaining some laboratory equipment, and general housekeeping tasks throughout the laboratory.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs (1 of which is a science subject) & laboratory experience
* NVQ level 2 Clinical Laboratory Science or IBMS Cert Part 1, IT qualification
Experience
* Scientific / Laboratory experience.
* Experience of external and internal environment in which the department operates.
* Previous Healthcare Science Service experience.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of laboratory techniques.
* Basic understanding of Human Biology.
