About the Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
We are seeking to recruit a Freelance Site Engineer to join our team based at Greatworth.
The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing junior engineers and assisting in construction operations at the Greatworth site.
You will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, and materials to carry out works to the required standards, programme, and budget.
You will work with the setting-out team, oversee the performance and development of junior engineers, and resolve technical problems on site in coordination with the senior team and Sub-Agent. You will also monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure their work meets contractual requirements.
You will ensure the team has all necessary information and resources, assist with producing programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
About You
* HNC/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or related field, working towards institute membership (ICE).
* Hold a CSCS card - White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager, or Gold - Supervisor.
* Previous highways or structures experience is essential.
* Knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities and construction supervision skills.
* Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures, or drainage is essential.
* Hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle.
