Overview
We are seeking a creative and empathetic Art Facilitator to join our team. This role involves setting up and running engaging arts and craft workshops in our studio, tailored to participants with varying needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) model, experience with safeguarding, and a passion for fostering a supportive and inclusive creative environment.
Pay depending on experience. DBS required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, set up, and run arts and craft workshops in the studio, ensuring they are accessible and enjoyable for all participants.
2. Promote and advertise workshops to ensure strong attendance and community engagement.
3. Tailor sessions to the specific needs of participants, particularly those with SEND, adapting methods and materials to accommodate diverse abilities.
4. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages participation and creative expression.
5. Understand and implement safeguarding procedures, acting as a safeguarding lead when necessary.
6. Collaborate with team members to continuously improve workshop content and delivery methods, ensuring they meet the needs of participants.
7. Foster a therapeutic approach to art facilitation, encouraging participants’ self-expression and creativity within the framework of the PACE model.
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Experience facilitating arts and craft workshops, with a strong understanding of diverse participant needs, especially SEND.
2. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently to groups.
3. Demonstrated ability to create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
4. Organisational skills to manage workshop setup, advertising, and delivery effectively.
5. Passion for working with diverse groups and helping others express themselves through creative activities.
Preferred Experience
1. Experience working with SEND participants in an educational or therapeutic setting.
2. Safeguarding Lead qualifications or experience.
3. Familiarity with advertising or promoting workshops to increase engagement.
4. Knowledge of the PACE teaching model and safeguarding practices.

Pay: £11.44-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 2 per week
