Band 4 Security Liaison Worker - Ardenleigh hospital

You will be expected to meet high standards of physical, relational and procedural security within our medium secure mental health service. You will be recruited to support Ardenleigh Hospital which is a Medium Secure Unit. Whilst you will be based in one of our three MSUs, you may need to support the other MSU sites within Birmingham. We are looking for a post holder who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and efficient who can work as part of a team and independently. Ideally, the post holder would have experience of working in secure environments and must hold a working understanding of the concepts of physical, procedural and relational security. You will have an eye for detail, be able to undertake audits, searches and checks, and be able to identify and implement changes to working practices to enhance security in the service. You may also be required to provide cover for the Control Room where full training will be offered.
Main duties of the job
1. To support, develop and work in line with policies and procedures for risk, security, health and safety management.
2. To be responsible for providing advice and support to staff on security related issues and contribute to the wider risk management.
3. Act as a role model for staff and service users, in a manner which positively reflects the values of the organisation.
4. To support the Reception and Security Manager, the ANP for Risk and Security and wider nurse management team and to be adaptable and flexible to the needs of the service.
5. Assisting with major incident planning and incident management within the Specialist and Complex Care Programme.
6. To work rotational shifts as per the needs of the service.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Level 3 Diploma in a related area of practice.
Skills
* Ability to use I.C.T based software including presentation and teaching skills.
* Experience of working in a secure mental health environment.
