I am currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a well established Retailer on a 12 month maternity cover. This role is based at their West Midlands head office with an excellent Hybrid policy. This is a great opportunity for a strong trading focused Senior Buyer / Category Manager to join the team on homewares.
You will be responsible for supporting the Buying Director to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the department. As a Senior Buyer within the Home team some of your duties will include.
* Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
* Own and deliver the homewares category plans to increase the departmental profit
* Negotiate and continually monitor / review Supplier Agreements
* Achieving profitable sales and margin growth across the category
* Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.
* Sourcing new suppliers & negotiating best cost prices
* Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team
* Develop the Buying team to ensure they fulfil their individual career potential
1. Key requirements for the role.
* Proven previous experience as a Senior Buyer / Senior Category Manager within a fast-paced retail environment
* commercially minded with good knowledge of the homewares sector
* Good level of education – degree desirable
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
* * Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
