What you will do: Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and interventions tailored to the prison setting. Implement ongoing management of mental health needs in line with prison healthcare protocols. Administer medication and monitor patient progress, ensuring adherence to established prison guidelines. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, GPs, and prison staff to optimise patient care outcomes. Provide support to patients with complex mental health needs, including those with substance misuse issues and safeguarding concerns. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, complying with NHS and prison standards. Engage in ongoing training and development programmes specific to the prison healthcare environment, enhancing both knowledge and practical skills. Essential Requirements: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration. Current and valid prison clearance is essential for consideration in this role. Experience working in a prison or secure environment is highly desirable, but not mandatory. Demonstrable skills in communication, resilience, and conflict management are a must. Ability to work flexibly across the 7-day shift pattern.
