Nursery Manager – Private Day Nursery, Stretford Location: Stretford Job Type: Full-time (4 days per week, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Benefits: Birthday off, performance bonuses, staff incentives About the Role A well-established private day nursery in Stretford is seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead its dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced childcare professional with recent management experience to oversee daily operations, maintain high-quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) regulations. Lead, support, and develop a team of staff to maintain a high standard of care and education. Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are adhered to at all times, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Manage nursery occupancy levels, budgets, and financial targets effectively. Develop strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies to promote positive relationships and engagement. Monitor and evaluate learning environments to ensure they are engaging, stimulating, and meet individual child development needs. Carry out staff appraisals, supervisions, and training to support professional growth and maintain a high-performing team. Implement and oversee health and safety policies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for children, staff, and visitors. Handle recruitment, inductions, and retention strategies to build and maintain a strong, motivated team. Manage nursery marketing initiatives and enrollment strategies to maintain occupancy levels. Requirements Recent experience in a nursery management role (Deputy Manager experience may be considered for the right candidate). Level 3 (or above) in Childcare/Early Years Education (Degree in Early Childhood Studies or equivalent is desirable). Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. In-depth knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted regulations, and safeguarding procedures. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong financial awareness, with experience in managing budgets and occupancy.
