Fixed term contract: Up to Three year post to start 1 July, 2025. The start date is negotiable. The end date is fixed as 30th June 2028.
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship funded by the EPSRC grant "Fundamentals and applications of tropical schemes" to work with Prof. Diane Maclagan
The project focuses on developing the foundations of tropical geometry, and in particular in further developing the theory of tropical schemes, and applying this technology to problems in algebraic geometry.
The specific projects can be tailored to your interests and background.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a background in tropical geometry, combinatorial algebraic geometry, or related fields.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
