Your new role, what's involved?
As a Fire Engineering Degree Apprentice in our Building Specialists team in London or Manchester, you will work on diverse projects, ensuring modern designs align with fire safety. Our Fire Engineers protect people, buildings, and businesses from the dangers of fire and smoke and work with architects, local authorities, and fire services to improve fire safety.
You will be a full-time, permanent employee, getting paid while working on exciting, real-world projects from day one. With support from your experienced team and dedicated buddy, you’ll gain hands-on experience in an inspiring environment. You will be equipped with the most sophisticated design tools, exploring fresh, new ways to design and build for our future, using the latest software, gaining technical experience while you learn on the job.

Our dedicated Early Careers team will work closely with you over the course of your apprenticeship to support and plan a development pathway that suits you. We also work together with local universities to make sure you are getting the best out of your apprenticeship.

Please note: candidates must complete the application form in full, answering all specified questions. This requirement applies to all candidates, inclusive of their background. Successful completion of this stage is mandatory. Candidates who pass this initial stage will then be required to complete an online behavioural assessment. Both the application form and the behavioural assessment are essential parts of our early career’s recruitment process.
What is the process?
1. Submit Application: We do not require you to submit a CV to apply; instead, you will need to complete a short online application form. You’ll receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of submitting your application.
2. Online Behavioural Assessment: If you meet our eligibility requirements and we have a role that matches your chosen preferences, you will be sent an online behavioural assessment to complete by our partner, Arctic Shores. To learn more about the assessment please visit Support For Candidates | Arctic Shores.
3. Assessment Centre or Interview: Next, a shortlist of candidates will be created by our hiring managers and those people will be invited to an assessment centre or face-to-face interview within 8 weeks of initial application. Please note, with the volume of applications we receive, not all candidates who are successful at the online assessment can proceed to the interview stage.
Please note, the process can take up to 12 weeks in total if you’re an early applicant. We will aim to keep you informed throughout the time that your application is being considered; however, due to the volume of applications received, we are not able to respond to individual requests for status updates.
