Join us in shaping the future of energy management and industrial operations The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer that is passionate about technology and sustainability to support our on the edge solutions within our Commercial and Industrial Enterprise offering. This role is pivotal in leading with the design and implementation of our energy asset integration technology across our client base. The successful candidate will join our team during a period of significant growth, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that drive our energy generation and sustainability products. The role will be the first in our complex projects division and will offer the opportunity of significant development as you assist with building out a support division for large and complex projects, supporting regions such as the UK, Europe, North America and South Africa. You will work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, design tailored solutions and ensure the successful deployment and integration of our products. This role is perfect for a technically adept professional with strong communication skills who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Solution Design: Work with clients and the sales teams to produce a solution utilising our product stacks that addresses client’s requirements Produce technical design documentation for applications, such as technical drawings of hardware deployments, integration diagrams, and system schematics. Identify and recommend third-party solutions that complement and enhance the functionality of our standard products and services. Technical Support and Remote Troubleshooting: Lead advanced technical deployments, integrations, and operations of the Edge Controller across a global client base. Diagnose and resolve technical issues with a remote-first approach, site visits may be required, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient system performance for solar installations and other energy assets. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure products meet the requirements for asset integration, remote monitoring, diagnostics, and optimisation of energy systems. Energy Asset Integration: Lead the integration of energy assets, including solar PV systems, battery storage, Diesel Generation and other renewable energy technologies, ensuring compatibility and seamless performance with existing infrastructure. Support with the configuration and commissioning of monitoring and control systems that optimise energy production, storage management, and energy distribution. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with key clients when required, ensuring a high level of satisfaction through proactive communication, accurate documentation and quality engagement. Reporting: Working with the Support Teams, track and report on the performance of deployed systems, ensuring uptime, efficiency, and optimisation. Provide regular project status reports, including updates on key milestones, timelines, and any risks or delays. Deliver detailed performance and KPI reports to clients and internal teams. Offer feedback to internal teams, contributing to product and process improvements based on system performance and client needs. Project Support: Manage the Solutions aspect of large and complex projects, working with the projects and sales teams to ensure that customer requirements, project milestones, and deadlines are met. Support pre-deployment tasks such as hardware and product ordering with the existing teams Provide active project site management and issue resolution throughout the duration of a project. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with internal teams, including Support, Accounts, Projects, Products and Sales and Marketing, to continuously improve Support Services Provide feedback to product development teams to enhance the functionality and reliability of solutions based on client needs and field experience. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Process Improvement and Support Structure Development: Lead in building out a Solutions division for large and complex energy integration projects, developing processes, tools, and documentation that will scale with the company's growth. Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as installation and troubleshooting guides, instruction manuals, training documentation and FAQs, to support both internal teams and customers. Implement and maintain best practices in Solution Design and Implementation, ensuring efficient operations. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to Solution Engineers, Pre Sales engineers and other Solutions staff on technical troubleshooting, system integration, and customer service best practices. Act as a mentor for developing team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. This role involves producing technical design documentation, overseeing solution implementation, and providing ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery while actively contributing to building out our growing complex projects division, while driving impactful projects that contribute to energy sustainability. Requirements 3 years of experience in a similar sector such as Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management, Solar, Energy Generation, or IoT technology. Proven experience with energy asset integration, including solar PV systems, battery storage, diesel generation, and other renewable energy technologies. Strong ability to design and produce technical documentation, such as hardware deployment diagrams, integration schematics, and system architecture. Experience configuring and commissioning energy monitoring and control systems to optimize energy production, storage management, and energy distribution. Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues remotely, with experience in a remote-first approach to system diagnostics and resolution. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage technical aspects of large and complex projects, ensuring customer requirements and deadlines are met. Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and stakeholders, providing clear technical guidance. Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with internal teams, such as sales, support, projects, and product development, to deliver tailored solutions. Experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation, such as installation guides, troubleshooting manuals, and FAQs. Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to train and guide junior engineers and other technical staff.
