Overview We are excited to announce an opportunity for a UK & Ireland Government & Public Affairs Manager Role. The Government Affairs Manager for the UK & Ireland is a new position that will be responsible for supporting national, local and devolved government engagement with UK and Irish institutions. In a period of increased government policy change across both countries, and with a large turnover of political representatives, this position will support the Head of Government Affairs to analyse legislation and policy, assess its impact on the business and deliver impactful responses at a crucial time. The role is expected to increase the capacity of the government affairs team at a national level, but also at a local and devolved level. Working with the six Groups, the GPA Manager will have significant responsibility for working driving engagement activity and outcomes to support local operations, with a particular focus on Scotland, Wales and London. This role will also work closely for GPA colleagues across Europe and globally to deliver strategic department priorities. This position will also require external representation of Enterprise Mobility with trade bodies and with political representatives and officials, alongside working closely with colleagues across the UK and Ireland business and GPA colleagues in Europe and globally. Responsibilities Capture, analyse and inform the business of new legislative or policy changes Support national engagement programmes on key strategic initiatives including electrification and decarbonisation Develop relationships with key national and local politicians, including attending meetings with colleagues and preparing briefing materials Support trade body relationships, including with the BVRLA Support the Groups with local engagement, including working with the sales team to identify commercial opportunities and making high-level introductions Deliver devolved government engagement plans in Scotland and Wales, and support the South East group's political engagement programme in London Manage external consultancy support and assist with intern management and guidance Support local engagement programmes in Ireland Attend external events and conferences to represent Enterprise Qualifications Competency Based Qualifications: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal relationship skills Ability to work as part of a mixed team of colleagues from different parts of the business Reliability in analysing complex policy issues and providing clear business advice Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to work full-time in person at Corporate Head Office in Egham and travel to London/other regions as required Additional Information Please let us know about any accommodations you may need to participate in the recruitment process.
