Design Manager - UK (North West) with secondments in France and wider Europe

We are keen to speak with design professionals who posses the right to work in both the UK and Europe and who are open to short secondments in Europe, predominantly France.
Working with a global pharmaceutical company the Design Manager is primarily accountable for the adherence to deliver quality,schedule and budget of the architectural and engineering design activities on a projectduringConcept (Stage 2), Basic (Stage 3)and Detailed (Stage 4) design stages.The DM is also accountable for the handshake with C&Q, and the transfer of As Built records. The DM is a key member of the AZ project management team, reporting to the Project Manager, and working alongside the Project Technical Manager (PTM), and Construction Manager (CM) and C&Q Manager.

Responsible for:
13. Support the Project Manager in selecting a Design Contractor(A/E) and type of contract;Work with PM to ensure alignment of scope with design resourcesSupport Project Scheduler to establish robust integrated schedule and budgetManage (A/E) to achieve project design objectives in compliance with policies, guidelines, and User Requirements Specification, and legislative compliance.Manage delivery pace and quality to meet schedule and approved budgetDefine technical governance and delivery organisation with PTMEnsure all design/engineering reviews adhere to current Design Assurance processesRegular meetings (weekly) with the (A/E) to review progress, changes and escalationsSupport Project Controls team to measure design progress at least once a month, to establish actualprogress achieved vs schedule.Manage the Project Change Management processpertaining to design, documenting all requests, organising and management impact assessments (incl. cost, schedule, reputation, resources, etc.). Ensure that all project change requestsare reviewed and approved by PM and other key signatoriesin a timely manner;Manage the engineering response to Requests for Information by A/E during construction
You’ll need to have:
14. You have an architectural and MEP design background with associated degree and experience of delivering and managing projects through all RIBA stages.
15. Membership of ARB, MICE, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
16. Experience of delivering and managing projects through all RIBA stages.
17. You are keen to develop your career working within the wider PM team on a complex programme of works.
18. You have a good understanding of the full design process. Designs within Listed buildings and working on retrofit experience is beneficial.
19. You are confident working with digital design and management programmes, can build lasting client relationships and keen to work to develop strong, motivated teams.
