An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to work within a dynamic environment to ensure the operational functions within the flow and capacity team.
The job holder is expected to assist non-clinically on the ward in whatever capacity is necessary to ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity.
Any other duties as may reasonably be required to ensure the efficient flow of patients through the hospital site.
Main duties of the job
* To provide the hospital site (Leicester Royal/Leicester General/Glenfield) with portering, housekeeping, and domestic services.
* Help ensure that patients are moved in a timely manner.
* This job purpose covers a 7-day week, 24-hour service, including weekends and bank holidays.
* Respond to ad hoc requests by the duty management team to ensure smooth operational flow and function.
* You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility is required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital, and Glenfield Hospital).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Ensuring the timely transfer of patients from the Emergency Department/Assessment Units to the base wards or discharge lounge to expedite patient flow across the hospital site.
* Help with the cleaning of patient areas to avoid delays with transferring/admitting patients.
* Assist non-clinically on the ward in whatever capacity is necessary to ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity.
