We’re seeking a Metal Stores Assistant to join our client's manufacturing team in Whitstable, Kent Key Responsibilities: Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate Perform quality checks To undertake works in connection with the issuing of store’s material to the machine shop and the maintenance of stock, to include receiving goods from suppliers and returns from shop floor. Print job tickets and issue material using company-bespoke software. Maintain a clean and organised work area. To take delivery of goods delivered into machine shop stores, with the use of forklifts where required. Communicate effectively with line managers. Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and quantity. Collaborate with team members for efficient production. Update the computer system to enable accurate stock levels. To get materials out ready for use in the machine shop and issue to the correct jobs, using the IT equipment provided. Adhere to safety protocols, including proper PPE usage. Heavy lifting will be required. To participate in the continuous improvement of service delivery, ensuring that policies and procedures comply with legislation and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Previous warehouse/ production environment experience is essential – would be ideal for someone with previous stock control experience. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety standards Quality checking experience (preferred) Basic computer skills for data entry Benefits: Pay rates: Standard: £11.54/hour Overtime & Saturdays: £17.31/hour Sundays: £23.08/hour Weekly pay On-site parking Subsidised canteen Potential for permanent employment Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday – 8 am-4:30 pm Friday 8 am – 1:30 pm Overtime opportunities
