GGRS is a national solar PV business which provides a variety of specialist PV solar services to domestic and commercial customers. This engineer’s role is working in our national service and installation team, working across the UK.
In this role you will be responsible for:
1. Lead on the surveying of sites where electrical systems are installed.
2. Carry out general electrical maintenance works.
3. Develop electrical installation plans and technical diagrams.
4. Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical systems in public spaces and buildings.
5. Ensure that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations.
6. Supervise ongoing electrical system installations and provide technical expertise to installation teams where needed.
7. Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
8. Complete work orders, record materials that are used on the job, and take photographs of works carried out and submit them to the admin team.
9. Identify electrical problems and recommend appropriate solutions for repairing them.
10. Advise the company’s management when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards.
11. Conduct general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshoot electrical issues with testing equipment.
12. Install, maintain, and repair solar PV, electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
13. Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
14. Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
15. Encourage and support staff whilst ensuring the successful delivery of all relevant aspects of the business.
16. Develop and maintain an understanding of GGRS work and the needs and circumstances of customers.
17. Comply with GGRS policies and procedures, including Health and Safety policies, for which all employees owe a duty of care both to themselves and others, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
18. Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in the light of the main purpose of the job and business.
We will require you to hold the below qualifications and experience:
1. 18th Edition.
2. 2391 Test and Inspect Level 3 NVQ & AM2.
3. Solar, Battery, Ventilation, EV, SSTS, CompEx (experience desirable).

Essential Skills for the role:
1. Completion of electrician apprenticeship, City & Guilds Level 3 and/or electrician degree from a technical college.
2. Experience of circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
3. Good knowledge of various electrical test equipment.
4. Several years’ experience working as an electrician and/or experience in the renewable energy field.
5. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build positive customer relations.
6. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
7. Able to keep clear, timely, accurate data records and share information effectively.
8. Ability to work on your own and as part of a team, together with a willingness to reflect upon and develop your own practice.
9. Excellent Digital and Data skills and able to work with CRM (Customer Relations System) MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Dropbox, Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, and office equipment.
10. Knowledge of and ability to comply with health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
11. Commitment to GGRS purpose and values including equality and social inclusion.
12. Ability to travel nationally with a driving license.
