About the Business Unit:
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme. As a service agency within the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS), Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Human Resources Supervisor, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of a range of human resource functions, with the primary focus to perform recruitment duties for the facility.
Some of your duties will include:
* Assisting with and participating in recruitment activity, including interviewing and selection and assessment of staff in relation to the recruitment process
* Providing high quality services and performing all administrative functions pertaining to human resources
* Designing, implementing and maintaining applications pertaining to human resources and personnel activities.
About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
* Experience in dealing with end-to-end recruitment processes
* The ability to cooperate and work well with others in pursuit of team goals, sharing information and acknowledging others' efforts while being willing to step in and help others where required
* The ability to seek resolution of problems through policy or process guidelines and understanding concepts that enable improvements in critical thinking and problem solving.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* A formal qualification and/or previous HR experience would be desirable.
