An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trained Dispenser to join ChillingtonHealth Centre. This position is permanent and part-time. We are looking for amaximum of 2 days, 18 hours, on a Tuesday and a Thursday 8am - 6pm.
The position will be well suited to an individual who has previousexperience in general practice, however, this is not essential. The individual shouldbe enthusiastic about providing high-quality patient service with strongcommunication and administrative skills.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the team you will be involved in all areas of the dispensary, including dispensing, stock control, record keeping and adhering to standard operating procedures.
Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent dispensing qualification, dispensing experience and knowledge are essential.

Job responsibilities
The followingare the core responsibilities of the Dispenser. There may be, on occasion, arequirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors suchas workload and staffing levels:
a.Tobe responsible for checking all medicines dispensed, ensuring there are nodiscrepancies
b.Dispensingmedicines to the entitled population safely and accurately
c.Collectingprescription charges in accordance with dispensary protocol
d.Maintainingstock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensary manager tofacilitate reordering
e.Receivingand storing supplies in accordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chainis maintained where applicable
f.Ensuringcontrolled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy
g.Safedisposal of returned and/or out of date medicines
h.Ensuringall repeat prescriptions are processed within a 48-hour timeframe
i.Providingpatients with advice regarding all prescription matters
j.Processprescription requests via email, phone, fax, face-to-face and online
l.Assistingthe dispensary manager in the preparation of monthly returns
m.Maintaininga clean and safe working environment at all times
n.Maintainaccurate records at all times, read coding entries appropriately
In addition tothe primary responsibilities, the dispenser may be requested to:
a.Partakein audit as directed by the audit lead
b.Provideguidance for trainee dispensary staff and students as necessary
c.Remaincurrent with the latest guidance ensuring the dispensary conforms to NICE, CQCetc guidance
