Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the delivery of care to older people, consistent with Renfrewshire Council's Policies and Procedures and Care Inspectorate standards.
The main duties of the post will include: assisting clients with physical and emotional needs documented in their care plan, maintaining effective links with carers and the wider community, contributing to the preparation of a meaningful activity programme and to participate in the delivery of these activities whilst promoting a high standard of care with emphasis on privacy, dignity, respect and personal choice.
It is essential you have experience of working with older people; an understanding of the needs and rights of older people; possess effective communication skills both written and verbal; have a genuine interest in the care and support of older people as well as a friendly manner. You must have knowledge of key worker responsibilities with the capacity to learn and apply new skills and also have a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
Possession of an SVQ Level 2/3 or HNC in Social Care is desirable, while the ability to achieve SVQ Level 3 this is essential.
