At Leonardo Helicopters, we’re currently recruiting for a Test Execution Manager to join our Structural Test Laboratory. As a Test Execution Manager, you will manage the Test and Instrumentation Engineers within the Laboratory in order to optimise test execution to meet the test proposal requirements and the certification of the helicopter components.
The Structural Test Laboratory performs critical strength testing of new aircraft designs and modifications required for Civil and Military certification in order to demonstrate the strength and fatigue life of the aircraft structure and components.
What you’ll be doing as a Test Execution Manager;
* Planning of the test activities according to the requirements provided by the Head of the Department and providing reporting on the progress of the tasks
* Working together with Test Design and Test Feasibility in order to ensure the best approach to each test
* Developing and implementing improvement initiatives within the Laboratory
* Providing budgeting activity for tasks and ensuring adherence through the tasks
* Managing the team of Test and Instrumentation Engineers in order to guarantee the execution of the assigned tests within target dates, balancing priorities and resources
* Provide leadership, support, mentoring and guidance the team of Test and Instrumentation Engineers via 1:1’s and evaluation reviews
* Assisting the Head of the Department in meeting the Company Health and Safety commitments
* This role may require occasional travel on behalf of the company
What we need from you;
* Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. mechanical, aeronautical or other engineering) or HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship together with experience in mechanical engineering
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience of: Structural and Component static and fatigue testing Hydraulic Servo Control systems Test Instrumentation (data acquisition, data logging, calibrations, types of instrumentation and their installation)
* Experience in aerospace structural testing would be a strong advantage
* Strong knowledge of aerospace engineering and the Leonardo aircraft fleet
* Experience in test rig design and the design of hydraulic systems/installations for test rigs is desirable
* Flexible attitude with willingness and ability to work in a team environment is essential
* IT literate
* Full driving license
