A CFO role for a listed group, based in the North of England.
About Our Client
Our client is a B2B service provider and leader in its sector, serving a diverse range of markets across the globe. Already a successful business, they are investing for the future and have a compelling strategy, as they look to new opportunities in emerging, high-growth markets to drive shareholder value. M&A is also on the agenda. The business has a strong balance sheet, is growing top and bottom line and is currently out-performing market expectations.
The Role
As CFO, you will play a key strategic role in the company. Reporting to the CEO, you will work closely with the executive team and the board to define and execute the company’s strategy.
You will be responsible for leading the development of the company’s financial strategy, supporting long-term growth and value creation and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team. As CFO, you will also play a key role in managing external stakeholders and investor relations.
You will be expected to lead and develop the finance function, with responsibility for financial and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, corporate governance, and compliance. In addition to this, you will lead capital management and cash flow management and have oversight of the tax strategy. It is also expected that you will play an important role in any M&A activity. As well as Finance, you will also have IT and legal functional responsibilities.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to make a significant impact on a fast-growing Plc. The role is based in the North of England, with a hybrid work pattern.
Candidate Profile
For this CFO opportunity you will be a qualified accountant, with a strong technical background, and ideally with extensive experience in a senior finance role, as CFO or Finance Director and the ability to operate in a Plc setting. Alongside this, you will have a proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies and supporting growth in smaller, entrepreneurial, fast paced environments. Previous experience in a technology business is desirable but not essential.
A successful track record of managing and developing high performing finance teams will be important. The role also requires a strong relationship builder with personal credibility, and high impact communication and presentation skills. You must be able to work at all levels and influence wider business direction and decisions. It is also important that you can demonstrate the strength of character to challenge, whilst being able to do so in a collegiate and considered manner and be comfortable leading change.
The role requires a well-rounded finance leader, who is commercially focused and also technically competent and has a good balance of strategic vision and a hands-on operating style. As stated, whilst the role is based in the North of England, our client has a hybrid working pattern, with the expectation that you will be in the office at least 2 days a week.
