School Cook - Lyndhurst, New Forest - 27.5 hours per week
Academics are looking for an experienced School Cook who is available for work from 22nd April to work in a busy school kitchen in Lyndhurst in the New Forest!
This is a temp to perm/permanent position working approximately 27.5 hours per week, term-time (39 weeks of the year). This is ideally suited to someone living in the Lyndhurst/New Forest area.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing cooked meals for pupils that are both nutritional and appetising.
2. Ensuring the kitchen is functional and clean to prepare food daily.
3. Implementing the school's Lunchtime and Behaviour policies, ensuring the security, safety, welfare, and good conduct of pupils during the midday break.
4. Promoting the development of the physical and mental well-being of pupils as directed by a teacher.
Key Accountabilities:
1. To ensure that a nutritional menu is followed.
2. To fully comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the school's Health and Safety Policy, and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
3. To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets.
Principal Responsibilities/Duties:
1. To organise and arrange deliveries of all food products to ensure that stock is always readily available to deliver the menu choice for the day.
2. To follow and adhere to all menu and recipes provided.
3. To follow the food hygiene guidelines and complete all required documentation, daily/weekly etc.
4. To ensure that all food is cooked, prepared, and served in line with company standards.
5. To always keep the kitchen area in a clean and tidy state.
6. To report any structural/Health and Safety issues on iAM compliant and if urgent directly to the Site Lead.
7. To provide a friendly, efficient, and hygienic service to all pupils.
8. To ensure that pupils are given a prompt and efficient service, and expectations are consistently exceeded.
9. To be pupil-focused at all times, by being visible during service periods, approachable, and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling pupil needs.
10. To ensure that all bookwork is completed in a timely manner: accurately and efficiently in line with the SFBB guidelines.
11. To project a willing and helpful attitude to pupils; to seek the appropriate knowledge of food items provided throughout catering areas and to keep areas and service counters clean and fully stocked.
12. To co-operate with all team members and undertake duties in the kitchen/service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is always delivered.
13. To attend food safety, health and safety, and environmental training courses as required.
14. To rigorously follow the unit cleaning schedules.
