Full time hrs on a temporary basis
Role Purpose:
Provide expert legal advice and support to the children’s services department, focusing on child protection, safeguarding, and welfare responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advise on legal matters related to children’s services, including child protection, safeguarding, and welfare cases.
2. Conduct legal proceedings in relation to care proceedings, adoption, and other child protection matters.
3. Draft and manage court applications, orders, and legal documents.
4. Provide legal advice to social workers, managers, and other stakeholders on statutory duties and responsibilities.
5. Represent in court hearings and negotiations with external parties.
6. Attend and conduct professional meetings, case conferences, and advocate meetings.
7. Supervise and mentor junior legal staff, providing training and support.
8. Develop and deliver training sessions for children’s services staff on legal issues.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.
10. Support the strategic objectives through effective legal advice and representation.
