What you will be doing: You will form a primary interface with the customer and your main role and responsibilities will include: Drafting complex contracts from first principles and other legally binding agreements (E.g.: NDA’s, MoUs, LTA’s, Contract Amendments, Framework Agreements) involving negotiating with senior customer stakeholders. Providing expert commercial and contract management advice to the programme, technical and finance teams (E.g., FOIA, SSCR, Export/import) Proactively acting to minimise risk and maximise opportunities. Coordinating and authoring business proposals for new contracting arrangements including supporting the timely submission of bids ensuring commercial integrity and compliance with all applicable company processes and legislation. Present commercial aspects of proposals and contracts at internal bid reviews, contract launches and contract reviews, to all levels of seniority, ensuring that the contractual obligations are known, understood and are being addressed. Managing emergent business issues including new product introduction, emerging requirements, contractual change, resolution of disputes and claims and support negotiating flow down terms and conditions to suppliers. And for this role, we are looking for: Previous experience in a Commercial Officer / Contract Management role, related to defence contracting or government procurement, has a high commercial aptitude, is ambitious and confident with experience in contract formalisation and can draft high quality documents from first principles. Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills with an ability to present commercial considerations to non-commercial stakeholders. Has a positive attitude, meticulous attention to details and ability to take new challenges. Able to collaborate with Customers, Partners, and subcontractors, has a flexible “can do” attitude, able to work under pressure to deadlines and has a willingness to work extended hours if required.
