My client is an expert service provider to the chemical research, development and manufacturing industries, specialising in process research and development for manufacturing drug substances and other high-value materials.
They are looking for a Process Chemist to join their team. Reporting to the team leader, you will be responsible for:
1. Applying a broad understanding of fundamental principles of your discipline area.
2. Combining knowledge of associated areas to solve problems and advance projects in lab-based environments.
3. Advising from first principles on technical challenges, equipment issues, and workflow.
4. Optimising both within your own project and supporting wider general development.
5. Contributing technically to the qualification and writing of proposals.
6. Mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level scientists.
7. Leading safety standards in the laboratory in your own work and ensuring compliance of the team with safety principles, acting as a role model.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Industrial experience in pharmaceutical chemistry of 5+ years and a scientifically relevant PhD or alternatively 8+ years industrial experience post-masters/bachelor's.
2. Deep technical experience in the relevant field of pharmaceutical science.
3. Proven track record of delivering large and complex project tasks while operating fully independently.
4. Expertise in writing clear reports from complex data, drawing clear conclusions, and the ability to communicate in technical language with scientific peers, including customers.
