About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a People Partner to join our team based in Hemel Hempstead. This role is office-based, so you will need to be able to travel to our office in Hemel Hempstead, and we're looking for someone to be based in the office for 4-5 days a week.
You will be responsible for identifying and managing all people activity for our Hemel Team. This will involve working closely, partnering with leaders from across all our support functions including IT, Finance, Marketing, and our Contact Centre to collate an accurate People Plan for both reactive and proactive people activity.
You will then work closely with specialists within the People Team to ensure any actions or activity are managed effectively. This will involve working with Resourcing, L&D, Internal Comms, and Payroll & Reward to ensure we have future sight of any key requirements and can work effectively to support the team.
You will also manage any Hemel-based case work which is varied in topic and complexity, supporting and coaching leaders through this and acting as a trusted advisor to the team. You will support our resort people teams with any additional case work needed.
As a true role model for the team, you will lead a range of people activities that reflect our values and business objectives, encouraging a fantastic culture with a focus on continuous development and making a difference to our guests. As the subject matter expert, you will also support in upskilling and training the team in a range of core HR subjects.

As well as working to support our Hemel team, we will also ask you to support with wider ER case work when needed to support our resorts, so amazing ER knowledge and the willingness to be flexible to travel when required is essential.
About You
This would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced People Partner who is looking for a new challenge. You should be experienced in operating in a complex organisation with different functions and should have excellent practical knowledge of employment law and how to effectively apply HR policy.
You will often be contacted by our people teams from our resorts with queries, so we really are looking for an ER expert! Coaching and developing our team is really important to us, so experience in working closely with teams of all levels through sometimes challenging situations is essential.
You should have an approachable and engaging style and be comfortable operating within an agile business where things can change quickly. Butlin’s has recently become independently owned, and this presents a unique chance to build and execute a new people plan that is truly aligned to our exciting plans for the future.
You should therefore also be confident in developing new ways of working and have experience in supporting teams through a change journey. Collaboration skills are also essential as you will work closely with specialists within the People Team to ensure any initiatives or suggestions from the Hemel team are discussed and actioned where required.
Whilst a CIPD qualification is advantageous, we are much more interested in your practical experience and mindset.
