We’re investing heavily in our Engineering community with great opportunities for personal development and career progression available. It’s within this skilled team at Marshalls that we’re recruiting for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of Engineers at our Pollington site.
What’s the mission?
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for the prioritisation of engineering activities across the Pollington production site, ensuring that standards for health, safety and environment, quality, people and performance are delivered on a personal and team level.
You will support and develop a strategy with the Site Engineering Manager to meet/exceed KPIs in the above areas by ensuring that business objectives are embedded at a team level, engaging the ‘hearts and minds' of the company’s employees to create and sustain a pro-active culture and drive a proactive approach to the prevention of equipment failure.
Leading a team of 15+ engineers, you will ensure that you provide technical guidance to the team as they strive to improve performance and support structured RCA and improvement projects using LEAN philosophies whilst embedding these competencies at the site level. You will need a strong background in engineering and people management to succeed in this role!
Working a day shift pattern of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday but flexibility will be required, as you will stand in for the Site Engineering Manager when needed.
What are the mission-critical skills?
1. Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications (time served apprenticeship)
2. 3+ Years’ experience of operating in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation
3. Experience of leading a large (15+) engineering team in a unionised environment
4. IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate
5. Experience of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and stock control systems
6. Experience of working with engineering schedule KPIs
7. Project management and leading/delivering change is desired
8. Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) would be an advantage
9. Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques eg DMAIC would be an advantage
