Contract: Fixed-term (January - July 2024), Full-time (with very high potential for permanent role from September 2025)

Are you an experienced and passionate educator looking for an exciting leadership opportunity? An excellent school based in Harrow is seeking a highly skilled KS2 Phase Leader and English Lead to join their team from January to July 2024, with the possibility of a permanent position from September 2025.
This KS2 Phase Leader Role:
This unique role combines classroom teaching and leadership responsibilities, offering the chance to:
1. Teach Year 5 : Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to inspire our Year 5 students.
2. Lead the English Curriculum : Take responsibility for English across the school, driving literacy outcomes and curriculum development.
3. Lead the Upper Key Stage 2 Phase (Years 5 & 6) : Provide leadership and support to colleagues in Upper KS2, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities of a KS2 Phase Leader:
4. Plan and deliver innovative lessons in Year 5, engaging students in a supportive and stimulating environment.
5. Oversee English teaching and assessment across the school, with a focus on improving literacy standards.
6. Lead and support the Upper KS2 phase, helping to shape the phase's strategy and direction.
7. Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to maintain high academic and pastoral standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
8. Proven experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 or Year 6.
9. Previous leadership experience within a school, especially in leading a subject or phase would be ideal but not essential.
10. A passion for English and raising literacy standards across the school.
11. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
12. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an enhanced DBS clearance.
