Childcare Deputy Leader Job description We are recruiting a Deputy Childcare Leader at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: 19.5 Hours (3.54 hours Monday – Friday) Contract Type: Part Time/Term Time Only/Fixed Term until 21-07-2025 Location: Trinant Flying Start This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Early Years Team. We pay an attractive salary of £12,844.72 - £13,933.54 and offer access to training and development opportunities. We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Childcare Deputy Leader to cover maternity leave in our Flying Start Team. The post holder will be required to support the leader in the day to day running of a childcare setting and assist in the operational management of the team. We require this post to be filled as soon as possible to adhere to Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards. The postholder is required to be qualified to Level 3 with 2 years post-qualification experience of working with children aged under 4 years, in a childcare provision. They will be required to undertake further qualifications/continuing professional development training. This could also be a secondment opportunity for internal candidates. For the role, we ask that you have: A CACHE Level 3 Diploma Early Years and Childcare qualification or equivalent relevant qualification. Knowledge of educational development and health needs of children under 5. Excellent interpersonal skills able to build good working relationships with children, parents, staff teams from varying agencies, and senior managers.
